Next week, Penn Foster will head down to Washington D.C. to take part in the National Job Corps Association (NJCA) 2015 Leadership Summit. The event, held November 2nd – 4th, brings together over 200 leaders of the NJCA representing all 126 Job Corps centers to discuss the challenges and opportunities for Job Corps in the upcoming year.
Having presented a workshop during the Job Corps 50th Anniversary Celebration and training conference this past spring, we’re thrilled to have another opportunity to participate in in a national conference as part of the panel, Job Corps for the Future: A Luncheon Discussion Featuring a CEO Panel on Monday, November 2nd. Penn Foster’s own Frank Britt will join a panel of CEOs from other Job Corps partners, including Management and Training Corporation, Serrato Corporation, and Education Management Service. With a focus on Job Corps for the future, we expect a lively discussion on the important role the Job Corps plays in addressing the dropout crisis and the skills gap, how to continue to create career-ready Job Corps graduates, and the role that partner organizations play in generating opportunities that change the lives for Opportunity Youth.
In addition to our panel discussion, we’re excited for the chance to attend other sessions on topics such as student placement, leadership and culture, and marketing – as well as meet-up with our myriad Job Corps partners who will be at the event.
