On Wednesday, August 21st, locations nation-wide marked the two year anniversary of the Better WorkLife Academy with festivities including cookouts, pastry buffets, job fairs, welcoming social shout outs, and even a special appearance of Paw Patrol’s Marshall to entertain children while parents discuss job prospects that will have a lasting impact on the economic mobility of their family.
Besides coming together to celebrate a tremendous achievement, the Better WorkLife Day events aimed to continue the momentum of the previous year where they placed thousands of job seekers across the country into roles, upping their offerings this year to include registering current associates for the Better WorkLife Academy and Life Skills Studio.
Joining locations across Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, Penn Foster employees experienced first-hand the palpable energy that comes with putting more people to work at a grand scale and empowering blue-collar workers to upskill and train for the workforce of tomorrow through the Better WorkLife Academy.
Karyn Ramey, Sr. Client Success Manager at Penn Foster, was on site with the VP of Associate Experience and Advancement for EmployBridge, Cathi Canfield at their Raleigh, NC locations of ResourceMFG and ProLogistix. Ramey, a staffing industry veteran, said the event reminded her that “finding and retaining great talent transcends industry, from technology to healthcare to manufacturing. It’s all people, and that’s what makes working in the staffing industry so dynamic day-to-day.” It’s also what has propelled the staffing giants like EmployBridge into the forefront, pioneering the shift in workforce development.
“For the first time in a decade, there are more blue-collar jobs on the market than skilled workers to fill them.
