This week, Penn Foster is excited to head down to Washington DC. as a main sponsor of the Job Corps 50th Anniversary Celebration. The week’s schedule of events brings together past and present Job Corps practitioners, Operators, student ambassadors, members of congress, and Job Corps advocates to celebrate 50 years of success in building the future of America’s youth.
Here are a couple of the week’s events that we’re looking forward to:
1. National Job Corps 50th Anniversary Celebration (Tuesday, April 21st) – While this dinner may feature members of congress and celebrities, it’s the Job Corps students that are the real stars. This event will highlight the accomplishments and stories of Job Corps students from across the years, and feature 125 student ambassadors representing each center and the over 60,000 strong Job Corps student body. This should be a truly memorable evening!
2. National Training Conference (Thursday April 23rd – Friday, April 24th) – We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to present a workshop at the National Training Conference. Our very own Erik Hensley and Kevin Bauman will anchor the conference’s academics breakout session and discuss best practices in HSD program operation, how to utilize data to improve OMS scores, and provide examples of practical applications of contextualized learning. The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 23rd from 3:15PM – 4:45PM.
Will you be in Washington, D.C. for the Job Corps 50th Anniversary or Conference? If so we’d love to meet with you. Send us an email to schedule a meeting, or find us at the conference!
