This Thursday, the Penn Foster team will head down to Philadelphia for an exciting double-event in partnership with JEVS Human Services (JEVS), a non-profit, multi-service organization with over 20 programs providing skills development, job readiness and career services, to name a few. The day will bring together thought leaders from the local community and beyond to discuss workforce development trends and education solutions, and celebrate recent graduates of Penn Foster High School. So what is on tap for the day?
Thought Leadership Roundtable
Led by John Colborn, COO of JEVS, and our own CEO Frank Britt, Thursday morning will kick off with a roundtable discussion on national trends in workforce development and how Penn Foster is providing innovative education solutions at scale. The roundtable will conclude with a Q&A, allowing attendees the opportunity to chime in on the ways these trends are impacting local efforts to improve social and economic mobility of community members.
Penn Foster Graduation with The Choice is Yours Participants
Following the Roundtable, attendees have the opportunity to venture over to Philadelphia’s City Hall, where Penn Foster and JEVS have teamed up to host a graduation ceremony for recent Penn Foster High School graduates from The Choice is Yours (TCY) program. In partnership with JEVS, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, the Municipal Court and the Defender Association of Philadelphia, TCY is an innovative diversion programs for first-time, nonviolent felony drug offenders. Through Penn Foster, select TCY participants have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma while in the program. We could not be more excited to celebrate the first five graduates this coming Thursday and hear about their journey to graduation!
