CAPPS 2015 ConferenceFor the past two years, Penn Foster has had the privilege of attending the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools’ (CAPPS) Annual Conference. This year, we’re excited to be back to continue building strong relationships with some of the most prestigious private colleges in California. Honoring “Strong Students, Proud Graduates,” the three-day conference is sure to provide insightful industry updates, terrific professional development seminars, and ample networking opportunities.

Here are the top three things that Penn Foster is looking forward to at the 2015 CAPPS Conference:

1. Pre-Conference Gainful Employment Workshop

If you’re planning on heading in early to take advantage of the pre-conference workshops, “Some Pain, but Lasting Gain: Taking Tough Action Now to Improve Programs and Meet GE Requirements” is a must-see session. Hosted on Wednesday, October 7th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, this interactive panel discussion will outline program and operational changes schools can make to meet requirements of the new gainful employment regulation. If you would like to have the panel specifically address an issue facing your school, you can submit a question here for consideration.

2. Accreditor Panel General Session

On Thursday, October 8th, CAPPS will host its annual accreditor panel from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. With Executive Directors and Presidents from six major accrediting commissions, this panel is a great resource for an inside view of the accreditation process, and any pertinent changes. This year, representatives from ABHES, ACCET, ACCSC, ACICS, DEAC, and WSCUC will come together to discuss a series of questions posed by CAPPS Board President, Dan Levinson.

3. Wine Tasting Reception

As always, we are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Wine Tasting Reception. Held on Thursday, October 8th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Aventine Ballroom, this year’s event promises to be another great evening of networking. Exhibitor prizes will be raffled off, including Penn Foster’s Fitbit Charge, and attendees will have an opportunity to trade in their “CAPPS Cash” (earned by visiting exhibitors) for a variety of gift cards. In addition to these great giveaways, free chair massages will be offered by Bellus Academy students.

This conference is the largest annual gathering of California private postsecondary education institutions, and this capstone event provides attendees an unparalleled opportunity to connect.

Penn Foster will be exhibiting throughout the conference at Booth #8, where you can stop by, say hello to our team, and spin our prize wheel. We’ll be giving away fun prizes and even a Fitbit Charge to one lucky winner!
