Why We’re So Thankful for Education this Holiday Season

JEVS TCY Penn Foster GraduatesIn the spirit of Thanksgiving, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of both our students and our partners throughout 2016. As a skills solutions organization, we are proud to play a role in providing individuals with the education and skills they need to take the next step in their career and positively impact their future. However, much of this would not be possible without the partnerships we have formed that enable students and employees to pursue our programs.

During a recent visit to Philadelphia, our team was given the privilege of attending the high school graduation for five Penn Foster students in The Choice is Yours (TCY) program run by JEVS Human Services. As a diversion program for first-time non-violent offenders, TCY truly has the ability to change the trajectory of its participants’ lives by giving them a second chance to become career and college-ready. Our partnership with TCY offers eligible participants the opportunity to earn their high school diploma with Penn Foster – a stepping stone to additional education opportunities and a new future. In the video below, hear directly from the graduates, instructors and program administrators who made this second chance a reality for the participants.

While the video above shares just one success story from 2016, we want to highlight that the diversity of our partners enable us to have an impact on so many across the nation. These nonprofit organizations, employers, colleges, school districts and government institutions work every day to give students, employees and opportunity youth access to the education and skills training they need to have a more successful future...and for that we are incredibly grateful.
